Robert Doherty

Robert H. Doherty, New Jersey State President, Bank of America. (Aaron Houston NJBIZ)Robert Doherty serves on CFNJ’s Board of Trustees and its Nominating Committee and Legal, Wealth & Tax Advisory Committee.

Mr. Doherty is the New Jersey State President for Bank of America. As State President, he integrates the bank’s local resources to deliver one company to customers and clients, and also provides community outreach and leadership within the New Jersey market. In addition to serving as State President, he is a Senior Credit Products Manager in Global Commercial Banking.

Mr. Doherty previously served as Executive Vice President of Fleet Bank – a Bank of America predecessor bank – in charge of its Middle Market operations in New Jersey. Before that he was Senior Vice President and Commercial Banking Director for Wachovia Bank and also held positions at Citibank and Bankers Trust Company.

He is involved in a number of charitable organizations in New Jersey including the New Jersey State Chamber of Commerce and its Executive Committee, The Community FoodBank of New Jersey, the Newark Museum and the New Jersey Performing Arts Center. He was a founding member of Choose NJ.

Mr. Doherty holds an M.B.A. in finance and marketing from Columbia University’s Graduate School of Business and earned a B.A. in economics from Lafayette College in Easton, Pennsylvania.
