CFNJ Morris Committee Sends 100 Campers to Museum

August 7, 2013

Thanks to a grant from the Community Foundation of New Jersey’s Morris County Fund, more than 100 campers from Dover were able to visit the Museum of Early Trades & Crafts in Morristown.  And the Whole Foods Market of Madison helped out too, providing healthy lunches for the campers.

The Morris County Fund was created to distribute dollars from Legacy Funds given to CFNJ.  Families who establish Legacy Funds can specify an issue, cause or hometown that they would like to have their charitable legacy impact.  CFNJ can then respond quickly to ever-changing community needs through grants designed around the spirit of the donor’s wishes.  The Fund’s current focus areas include: education, health, child welfare, immigrant welfare, and music education, among others.

More than 100 campers fill Museum of Early Trades & Crafts in Madison thanks to grant

On Monday, July 22 and Wednesday, July 24, campers from the Neighborhood House in Dover, NJ visited the Museum of Early Trades & Crafts and enjoyed healthy lunches donated by Whole Foods Market of Madison thanks to the a grant from the Community Foundation of New Jersey.

More than 100 children and chaperones from the Neighborhood House in Dover, NJ filled the Museum over a two day span for a full-day visit to the Museum. Funded by the Community Foundation of New Jersey, the camp children participated in a number of the Museum’s popular education programs, which include interactive lessons and craft projects for each child to take home.
In addition, Whole Foods Market of Madison generously donated delicious and healthy bagged lunches that included a sandwich, fruit, a cookie and water for each child and chaperone.

For many of the campers this was their first time visiting at the Museum. They were thrilled with the unique history programs they got a chance to participate in and asked lots of questions. Campers left the Museum chatting to each other about what they learned with large smiles on their faces.
