Impact 100 Garden State Announces 2020 Membership Results

February 20, 2020

Impact 100 Garden State celebrated it’s 2020 membership drive on Wednesday February 19, 2020 at the Grain House in Basking Ridge by announcing a total of 341 members, resulting in $341,000 grants to be awarded to area nonprofit organizations at its Annual Awards Meeting on June 17, 2020.

Along with 286 returning members (an 83% member retention rate), Impact 100 welcomed 55 new cross-generational members coming from the following: Bergen County (Waldwick, Wyckoff), Hunterdon County (Califon), Morris (Butler, Denville, Mendham, Morris Plains, Morristown, New Vernon, Randolph), Somerset County (Basking Ridge, Bedminster, Bernardsville, Branchburg, Bridgewater, Far Hills), Passaic County (Pompton Lakes), Sussex County (Newton, Sparta), Union County (Summit), and even Florida!

In addition to celebrating and socializing with each other, representatives from past grant recipients were on hand to meet with members and share the impact of the grants on their organizations. These nonprofits included America’s Grow a Row, Project Self-Sufficiency, Roots & Wings, Community Soup Kitchen, County College of Morris Foundation, CUMAC, Interfaith Food Pantry, Samaritan Inn, Table-to-Table, Wharton Institute for the Performing Arts, and Union County Economic Development Corporation.

The first ever Rising Stars $5000 grant was awarded to local nonprofit Farmstead Arts.   The Rising Stars grant has been created to recognize a smaller nonprofit nominated by a member.

Thanks to Impact 100 Garden State member dues only, over $2 million in grants will have been awarded to area nonprofit programs since its launch in 2013.

Impact 100 is a Special Project Fund of the Community Foundation of New Jersey (www.cfnj.org), which supports charitable giving focused on making NJ communities stronger. Women work together to provide transformative grants to local nonprofit programs in Morris, Passaic, Somerset, Sussex, and Union counties.  Each member donates $1000 a year and together they make the impact of a $100,000 donation.   Over eight years since Impact 100 Garden State was founded, the organization has grown from 135 members to now 341 members.
