Millville Students Tour Riverfront Renaissance Center for the Arts

June 1, 2016

IMG_4551The Riverfront Renaissance Center for the Arts, the focal point of the City of Millville’s Glasstown Arts District, hosts a number of exhibits and cultural presenters. The learning is experiential with students creating origami with artist Carol Nagao, making Italian lace under the direction of Cesarina Croce, and participating in a multicultural presentation by storyteller Kathryn Ross.

Last month, students from Millville paid a visit to the Center where they were able to walk through the nearby Levoy Theatre, which hosts a traveling exhibit of the African-American Heritage Museum of Southern New Jersey.

The students were also exposed to fine arts as they viewed various exhibits at the Riverfront Center. Cultural-themed artwork by Millville students from grades Kindergarten through 12th grade is also displayed at the Center.

The field trip to the Riverfront Renaissance Center for the Arts was made possible with a grant from Field Trip New Jersey, an endowment launched by the Community Foundation of New Jersey and Geraldine R. Dodge Foundation to take students into new places that have the power to awaken, hush, awe, enrich, or otherwise positively change their lives.
