We at the Community Foundation were pleased to host Cecilia Zalkind, Executive Director of Advocates for Children of New Jersey, on April 7th for an in-depth discussion on the issues facing New Jersey’s young people. Ceil was a leader in the Food for Thought: School Breakfast campaign, of which the Community Foundation is a part, which has dramatically increased the number of New Jersey students starting the school day with nutritious meals. Click here for more on the success of the campaign.
Scroll down for several pictures from the event, as well as our “live-Tweeting” which provides a summary of the discussion.
Following the success of last November’s discussion with Kelly Sandler of the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office and Eliza Nagel of the Rutgers Criminal and Youth Justice Clinic at Rutgers Law – Newark (click here for that summary), we are committed to providing our fundholers and other interested parties with these types of gatherings aimed at issues of shared import.
And, of course, thank you to Ceil and all those who attended!
