April 21, 2014

The Community Foundation of New Jersey (CFNJ) today announced that Dennis Wilson, President and CEO of Delta Dental of New Jersey, has joined the Board of Trustees.

Delta Dental of New Jersey is the state’s leading dental benefits company, serving more than 1.5 million people in New Jersey and Connecticut.

“We are pleased to welcome Dennis to the board and look forward to him sharing his perspective on philanthropy in New Jersey, as well as that of the countless New Jerseyans he and his team serve every day,” said Thomas Uhlman, Chairman of the CFNJ Board.  “A top priority of CFNJ is to be responsive to its donors and to challenges in the community, and Dennis will surely strengthen our ability to do that.”

Wilson previously served as President of the Middle Atlantic Region and National Lead for High Performance Network/ACO Business Development for Coventry Health Care/Aetna and also held senior management positions at Lovelace Health Plan, Cigna Healthcare, Partners in Care Corp., Healthnet, and Independence Blue Cross.

His work in the community has spanned from New Mexico to New Jersey and included serving as the Chair of the New Mexico Symphony Orchestra, Board Member of the Albuquerque Economic Development Commission, and Chair of the University of New Mexico Athletic Scholarship Organization.  He has served as a Board Member of United Way, the Lovelace Clinic Foundation, and the Princeton YMCA, as well as a member of Rotary International’s Strategic Planning Committee.

Wilson received his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Massachusetts.

“At Delta Dental we work with New Jerseyans from Sussex to Cape May Counties, all of whom care about this state, its communities, and its future,” said Wilson.  “I am honored to join the Community Foundation’s Board to give voice to these New Jerseyans, many of them aspiring or established philanthropists, and identify new and better ways to serve our state’s communities.”
