Join Us to Stop Human Trafficking in New Jersey

January 9, 2014

We know two things for sure about next month’s Super Bowl at the Meadowlands in New Jersey. First, neither the Jets nor the Giants will take the field. And second, the incidence of human trafficking and forced prostitution will spike.

We’ve kept an eye on this issue for a while now – click here for our latest coverage – and it’s why we’ve teamed up with the New Jersey Coalition Against Human Trafficking to provide a lifeline for victims before, during, and after this major sporting event.

But now we need your help.  On Saturday, January 25th in Teterboro and Sunday, January 26th in Paramus, volunteers are needed to label, package, and distribute (in teams) bars of soap with the National Human Trafficking Hotline number to nearby hotels and motels identified as high risk for trafficking.  We’ll also be distributing posters with photos of missing children and ‘Red Flag’ brochures to help hotel staff identify instances of trafficking or forced prostitution.

To learn more about this important volunteer opportunity, sign-up, or discuss other ways to support our anti-trafficking work, please contact Nancy Hamilton at 973-267-5533 or nhamilton@cfnj.org.
