On May 16, history students from Bound Brook High School spent the day in New York City, visiting locations of historic significance. Stops included Wall Street and the 9/11 Museum, and a visit across the river to Ellis Island.
“This year’s trip to New York was such a great experience,” said one student. “I learned a lot while having fun at the same time. I got to see Alexander Hamilton’s grave, the place where George Washington was inaugurated, the Statue of Liberty, and the 9/11 memorial and museum. I can’t believe I got to see so much in one day. I’m very happy that I spent my day in New York learning things that I never knew before.”
The visit to New York City was made possible with a grant from Field Trip New Jersey, an endowment launched by the Community Foundation of New Jersey and Geraldine R. Dodge Foundation to take students into new places that have the power to awaken, hush, awe, enrich, or otherwise positively change their lives.
