Impact 100 Garden State Announces 2020 Grant Recipients

Impact 100 Garden State announced their 2020 grant recipients on Wednesday, July 8th during a Zoom virtual event attended by over 200 people. Members voted to award three $100,000 grants to the following recipients and their programs:

Cornerstone Family Programs – Teen Pathways to Brighter Futures (Morristown, Morris County)

Homeless Solutions Inc. – “Next Level” Shelter Expansion Project (Cedar Knolls, Morris County)

Zufall Health Center – Mobile Meals for Dover Families in Need (Dover, Morris County)

These exceptional organizations will provide job training and educational services for at-risk teens, expand shelter, services, and supportive housing for the homeless, and purchase a food truck to distribute prepared meals to the under-served.

Four merit grants of $15,000 each were awarded to Bonnie Brae (Liberty Corner, Somerset County), Caring Contact (Westfield, Union County), Family Promise (Summit, Union County) and Norwescap (North Plainfield, Somerset County).

Impact 100 Garden State is a women-led, all volunteer, philanthropic organization that empowers women to provide high impact, transformational grants to local nonprofits that reach under-served populations in Morris, Passaic, Somerset, Sussex, and Union counties. Each member contributes $1000 a year and that donation is pooled for collective giving. Since 2013, Impact 100 Garden State has donated over $2 million to vetted nonprofits and each member has a vote in deciding which nonprofits become grant recipients.

The Community Foundation of New Jersey is pleased to host four Impact 100 groups – Impact 100 Garden State, Impact100 Essex, Impact 100 Jersey Coast, and Impact 100 South Jersey – which have brought together a combined 1,100 New Jersey women to make more than $3.5 million in grants to nonprofit organizations to date. These Impact 100 groups share our “multiplier effect” philosophy as evidenced by the volume and, indeed, impact of their giving.
