Today – November, 28th – is Giving Tuesday, and with it, an opportunity to kick off the holiday season with a gift to your favorite cause or community. We will be in the office all week to support your giving, but we are also proud to offer an opportunity to make your giving go farther.
By making a gift to the Community Foundation’s Changemaker Fund, you will ensure that – no matter how else you give today – the New Jersey communities in greatest need will continue to have a determined philanthropic champion at their back, willing to focus on tough challenges and bring meaningful solutions to life.
This year, at the direction of our Leadership Committee, the Changemaker Fund and interested fundholders have invested in the businesses of more than 100 Newark women who are now contributing to the city’s economy and job growth.
We paid for buses to take hundreds of students from underserved school districts across the state on a wide array of educational field trips, including to college campuses for tours.
When there was a gap in funding, our Changemaker Fund kept New Jersey’s toll-free hotline for families of addicts on line and on a path toward sustainability.
We even funded the coalition that worked with a bipartisan group of legislators to keep New Jersey’s incarcerated kids out of solitary confinement and back into their families and communities sooner.
This work is based on research, tested locally, and driven by impact. The best part is… we can see the direct improvement we are having on New Jersey’s communities.
