Impact 100 Garden State Announces 2019 Grant Recipients

At their Annual Awards Meeting Wednesday night, the members of Impact 100 Garden State voted to award three $110,000 grants to the following recipients and their programs:

  • County College of Morris FoundationDover College Promise
  • CUMACBeyond Hunger
  • Union County Economic Development Corp.Entrepreneurship as a Second Chance

These exceptional organizations will provide services and scholarships to low-income middle and high school students, healthy foods and supportive services to help break the cycle of poverty, and opportunities to explore business ownership to citizens returning from incarceration as a way to reenter society.

Two merit grants of $8,000 each were awarded to Passaic County Community College Foundation and The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey.

Impact 100 Garden State is a women-led, all volunteer, philanthropic organization that empowers women to provide high impact, transformational grants to local nonprofits that reach under-served populations in Morris, Passaic, Somerset, Sussex, and Union counties. Each member contributes $1000 a year and that donation is pooled for collective giving. Since 2013, Impact 100 Garden State has donated $1.7 million to vetted nonprofits and each member has a vote in deciding which nonprofits become grant recipients.

The Community Foundation of New Jersey is pleased to administer Impact 100 Garden State, as well as Impact 100 Jersey Coast, Impact 100 Essex, and Impact 100 South Jersey.
