Hans Dekker, president and CEO of Community Foundation of New Jersey (CFNJ) will be the featured speaker at the membership meeting of Refugee Assistance Morris Partners (RAMP) at 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 28, at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 37 Hillview Ave., Morris Plains, N.J. The meeting is open to the public.
RAMP is a Special Project Fund of the Community Foundation of New Jersey. CFNJ manages and administers RAMP funds, and donations made to RAMP through CFNJ qualify for 501(c)3 status.
Dekker has led CFNJ since 2003. He will speak on the history and mission of CFNJ, as well as its current resources and priorities. He will also discuss the relationship with RAMP and share his views about how RAMP, as a volunteer organization, can prosper in the future. For 40 years, CFNJ has counseled New Jersey families and businesses on how to use philanthropic funds to target and increase the impact of their giving.
The second half of the meeting will be led by Gerry Gannon, chairperson of RAMP, who will update our volunteers and supporters on the status of the current families supported by RAMP, and plans for refugee assistance in 2020.
RAMP, founded in 2016, is a volunteer interfaith organization which assists Middle Eastern and other refugee families to transition to productive lives of dignity, safety and hope in the Morris County area of New Jersey. One family from Syria, and three families and one individual from Afghanistan – a total of 15 people – have been welcomed and supported by RAMP volunteers and donors over the past four years.
Chair Gannon urges as many as possible of RAMP’s friends, volunteers, and supporters to attend this special meeting. For further information visit RAMP’s website at www.rampnj.org.
