James Moody felt that education was the key to everything, by providing opportunities for a better future. The James Moody Jazz Scholarship for New Jersey, is a $5,000 award, offered annually to an outstanding high school senior who embodies some of the qualities expressed by the NEA Jazz Master through his life and works: musicianship, creativity, leadership and community involvement.
