We’re grateful for many things here at the Community Foundation, chief among them:
- We have NOT yet experienced snowfall like that in 2018 (see picture), and more importantly,
- Fundholders are giving to the causes and communities they care about more than ever.
We are here to help as you think about the most beneficial ways to include philanthropy in your year-end planning. While gifts of cash and stock are most common this time of year, it’s also when philanthropic families get the most creative – from gifts of real estate to privately held stock.
Remember, for a charitable donation to count for the 2022 tax year, it must be received by December 31, 2022. That’s a Saturday this year, so we recommend initiating gifts a bit sooner – especially if they are gifts of stock, which can take longer to process.
We recommend that fundholders initiate year-end grants this week. If this season’s giving is like last year’s, we will process more than 2,500 grants totaling more than $15 million.
We welcome the opportunity to help you navigate the busy giving season and would also be pleased to explore additional philanthropic opportunities in 2023. Please contact us at any time: (973) 267-5533.
