Welcoming our new grants processing and accounting team members

Spring as been busy this year at the Community Foundation! Not only have we welcomed new staff members to our team, but we also have fully re-opened our newly-renovated office in Morristown. We invite you to visit us at Knox Hill any time for a conversation about your fund, your philanthropic goals, your community’s needs, or just to say hello. We’re located in a beautiful spot in the Morris County Park system and always enjoy showing fundholders and friends around.

Please join us in welcoming Diana Van Ness to the Community Foundation. As our new Senior Grants Administrator, Diana is leading the team that handles your grant recommendations and may be reached via email at dvanness@cfnj.org. We are also pleased to welcome Jessica Morell (jmorell@cfnj.org), Senior Accounting Manager, who augments our expanded accounting team that includes Kevin Hearne (khearne@cfnj.org), Controller, who joined us earlier this year.

Everyone at the Community Foundation is cross-trained to serve fundholders, so rest assured that anyone you speak with is able to assist you with your giving. Our main phone number is (973) 267-5533.

Our fundholders have been as active as ever, and we are sending out a minimum of 125 grants per week (and sometimes many more) to wonderful nonprofit organizations doing great work in our communities. Last year, our team processed more than 8,300 grants totaling $87.5 million. What a privilege it is to steward your giving!

Remember, the two best ways to make a grant recommendation are online or by email. You can also send us a grant form by mail. The minimum grant is still $100. Our team performs due diligence on every grant, then reviews, approves, and sends them out within 5–10 days of receipt. Of course, we are always a phone call away should your grant require special instructions.
