The Growing Healthy Pantries Initiative is a collaborative effort among New Jersey’s five Feeding America food banks. The goal is to provide access to healthy food choices and resources to improve long-term household stability.
Successful outcomes include:
More healthy food options and choices at all New Jersey pantries
Better education to encourage healthy foods
Increased connections to other community resources that will address social determinants and improve household stability
Stronger advocacy for food security at all New Jersey pantries
With more than 1,000 local pantries operating across the state, all at different levels of capacity, implementing healthy choice best practices will be a long-term effort requiring hands-on technical assistance and support.…
