RSI Foundation makes fourteen grants to community nonprofits in the Rahway, NJ area

The RSI Foundation, a donor advised fund of the Community Foundation of New Jersey, is pleased to announce the completion of its first grantmaking cycle. RSI Foundation made fourteen grants ranging from $5,000 to $25,000 and totaling $165,000 to nonprofit organizations serving Rahway, NJ, and surrounding communities.

The following organizations received funding:

Supporting Community Patient Response – Center for Hope Hospice & Palliative Care Inc. is a non-profit organization providing end-of-life natural, humane medical care and physical, emotional, and spiritual support for family and loved ones.

Honor Guard, Motor Unit, and Bullet Proof Vests – The City of Rahway Police Department is a dedicated and diverse group of law-enforcement professionals who work with the community to make the City of Rahway a safe and desirable place to live, work, or visit. The Department partners with the community to promote peace, solve problems, and improve public safety in a manner that is fair, impartial, and transparent.

Building Resilience in Vulnerable Communities: Closing the Cancer Care Gap in Union County – Crossroads4Hope supports all people touched by cancer – providing a safe place to access a network of resources and programs for the diagnosed and their loved ones.

Shared Affordable Housing – HomeSharing, Inc. provides shared affordable housing in Central New Jersey by professionally matching homeowners with those needing affordable housing.

Senior Success Program for Rahway Senior Living Residents – The Mental Health Association in New Jersey is a statewide non-profit that strives for children and adults to achieve victory over mental health and substance use disorders through advocacy, education, training, and services.

History, Education, Learning, and Outreach in Rahway – Merchants & Drovers Tavern Museum preserves Rahway’s 18th-century Merchants and Drovers Taverns and local history collections interpreting these culturally significant structures and artifacts for community education, research, and enjoyment.

Career Accelerator Program for Union/Middlesex County – The New Jersey Theatre Alliance unites, promotes, strengthens, and cultivates New Jersey’s professional theatres by advancing innovative, collaborative, and engaging programs and services for member theatres and their diverse audience.

RCAO Emergency Needs Program – Rahway Community Action Organization provides early childhood education, family strengthening, employment, and emergency assistance services to youth, families, and seniors.

Food Pantry and Mobile Pantry Programs – Rahway Food for Friends, Inc. feeds the hungry, the homeless, and food-insecure families in Rahway and surrounding communities via a weekly soup kitchen, food pantry distribution of food-supplement packages, and twice-weekly mobile deliveries of fresh and nonperishable food to disabled veterans, seniors, and families.

Transportation to Patients Via Uber Health – Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Rahway is an acute care community hospital that provides inpatient and outpatient medical and surgical services that meet the community’s need for safe, quality, and accessible preventative, acute, and chronic health care.

Clinical Services Residents of Rahway and Surrounding Communities – SAGE Eldercare serves older adults and caregivers with a comprehensive array of programs and services that promote independence and improve quality of life.

Strengthening Access to Healthy Food and Nutrition: St Joseph’s Individual Food Pantry Program – St. Joseph’s Social Service Center serves the homeless and poor with a wide variety of programs that provide basic necessities of food, clothing, access to housing, health-related support, and employment services.

RSI Nursing Scholarships—Students from Rahway or Surrounding Communities – Union County College Foundation supports the educational needs of Union County College students with resources not available through public funding.
